Buying a book helped me win a case: Lesson- invest in yourself (for lawyers and professionals)
I talk about how I won a case and got bail for a client by finding one judgment mentioned in a book on criminal law I purchased. This was in my first year of practice as an Advocate, where spending Rs. 2500 on a book was a huge expense. Yet, it covered my fees and paid me 15 times more money when I got bail for the client by reading one small line in that book and used it to convince the Magistrate that my client should get bail. It was a valuable lesson for me to keep investing in myself. Since then, I have invested in coaching, courses, books and seminars.
