De Punt een jaar na de fatale brand
DE PUNT - Saturday, May 9th, marks the one-year anniversary of the death of three Eelde firefighters in the fire at the Beuving shipyard in De Punt. Therefore, two commemorations will be held on that day. During a private gathering, relatives and members of the fire departments of Tynaarlo and Groningen Airport Eelde will gather at the airport. A public meeting will be held at 't Kampje in Eelde starting at 2:00 PM. The commemoration will initially be held for five consecutive years. A permanent memorial will also be erected. The Dutch Fire Service will also receive a national monument to commemorate firefighters who died in the line of duty. Radio Drenthe will broadcast the public meeting live alongside Cassata, and the commemoration can be seen in its entirety on TV Drenthe starting at 6:18 PM on Saturday evening. Drents Diep reflected on the fire on Tuesday evening.
