OSTT a routesetting documentary

One Start, Two Tops (OSTT) It has already been a year and the next Berta Block Masters are only days away but the memories of last year are still vivid. A new concept was born. This was a team effort (Marlene, Stephan, Fabi & Lainy) and a lot of planning, standing in front of the wall, discussing the possibilities, the worst case scenario’s... So this is how OSTT workes: 4 minutes, one 4-point start, two ways to reach one of two tops. We aimed for a similar difficulty, same amount of movements but a variation in style. The competitors had to make a choice… right or left, according to their route reading and personal strengths. And if the one side did not work out they could change the side as often as they wanted during the given time. Thanks to all the athletes. It was a pleasure watching you, fighting for the points and making for a great show. Also, your feedback was very valuable and we are glad that you enjoyed the additional challenge. In the end only the right side got topped although Helene got super close on the left problem. Many competitors changed their mind multiple times, which was a great insight in the athletes’ decision making.
