Enrique Sordera: «El flamenco es música y vida, no muerte»

Enrique Soto (1952) is the eldest member of the Sordera family, one of the most successful flamenco singing families in Jerez. Closely related to Paco La Luz, Tío José de Paula, Niño Gloria, and, more recently, María Bala and José Mercé, the singer fondly recalls those times "as a child" on Calle Nueva, where the gypsies of the time lived and where "a party was held in a small well, in the middle of the street." He soon moved to Madrid with his father, Tío Manuel, as well as the rest of the family, and began performing on stage at the age of fourteen.
