Another point to consider is varying your planting. Harvested roots? Plant vegetables whose leaves, fruits, or even flowers you want to harvest. This helps keep the life that lives in the substrate balanced. The trick is to cultivate marigolds: these orange flowers, which attract butterflies and bees, help to repel nematodes, thanks to a substance that this clever little plant produces in its roots.
