Hiking Gear List: What I carried on the Pyrenees High Route.
Here's the kit that I chose to take on my full traverse of the Haute Route Pyrenees in July & August. My base weight was around 7.5kg. It was a 40 day, 800km+ hike with over 50km of altitude gain. I was regularly walking and camping at altitudes of over 2500m. Temperatures ranged from -1 (at night) to 35 degrees centigrade. Weather conditions varied from prolonged wind and rain for days on end, to relentless blazing sunshine. Almost everything worked really well, and my bag only felt heavy when I'd just stocked up on lots of food!
