Nietos, historias con identidad - Gonzalo Reggiardo Tolosa
María Rosa and Enrique met at the architecture school. In February 1977, the young couple, along with Enrique's mother, were kidnapped. Rosa was six months pregnant with twins. The couple was seen at the clandestine detention center "La Cacha" and may have also been held at the clandestine detention center "Pozo de Arana." Near her due date, María Rosa was transferred to Olmos Prison, where on April 27, 1977, she gave birth to twin boys. The children were appropriated and their identities changed. Following reports from relatives of another detainee, the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo began investigating the possibility that the twins registered as his own by Deputy Commissioner Samuel Miara were the children of this couple. When, in 1985, the judge ordered immunogenetic testing, Miara, along with his wife and the children, fled to Paraguay. When the extradition was secured and the children returned to the country, genetic testing was carried out at the National Genetic Data Bank (BNDG), which in October 1989 confirmed that the children were the offspring of María Rosa and Enrique. In November 1991, the courts restored their true identities, but due to interference from outsiders and the violent media campaign unleashed against the restitution of the appropriated children, the relationship the young people had begun to establish with their biological family was hindered. Until they reached adulthood, the twins Gonzalo and Matías lived with a foster family. Currently, they maintain contact with their birth family and know their history. Their parents and grandmother remain disappeared. Public Television presents "Grandchildren, Stories with Identity," a series of short segments narrated by Víctor Hugo Morales, which, through the testimonies of the protagonists, tells the story of the search by relatives of the disappeared and of children of the disappeared who recovered their identities and were reunited with their families. Furthermore, all young people who have doubts about their identity are invited to contact the Grandmothers of Plaza de Mayo.
