Given the now empty refrigerator, we decide it's time to leave the high valleys and head down towards Matelica. Gulliver takes his time navigating the curves, while outside the landscape changes color: from the cool tones of the mountains to the softer greens of the hills. Once in town, we find a supermarket and stock up on the pantry: bread, fruit, something warm, and a couple of treats that are always present in a camper. It's a small ritual, but it's as much a part of the journey as the trails and peaks. With our pantry full, we set off again toward the green valleys of Muccia. The idea was to find a quiet place to stop, breathe in some nature, and perhaps take a walk. But the rain follows us. First light, then insistent, then almost stubborn. At this point, all that's left to do is choose the wisest course of action: find a safe place to rest. We reach the rest area of ​​Pieve Torina, a quiet, sheltered spot, perfect for braving a night of bad weather. And indeed, during the night, the sky decides to turn on us: a strong storm, deep thunder, gusts of wind that slightly shake Gulliver. Inside, however, there's warmth, safety, that feeling of being in the right place. Victor sleeps, occasionally opening an eye, then getting comfortable again. The sound of the rain becomes almost a lullaby. And then, as often happens on the road, magic happens. When we wake, we open the blind and find a ray of sunshine cutting through the cool morning air.
