استالینگراد سقوط کرد! به خاطر خیانت یک نفر؟ / فریدریش پائولوس: خائن یا قهرمان؟ 2/2

Description of Part Two – Friedrich Wilhelm Paulus: From the Peak to the Fall Here you will hear the continuation of the story of one of the most controversial commanders of the Nazi German army; the man whose name is tied to Stalingrad. 🔻 In the previous part (chapters 1 to 7), we learned about his childhood, his entry into the army, World War I, his growth in the Reichswehr and his rise to the position of Deputy Chief of Staff. Now we are here to follow the true story of his fall and betrayal or courage: Chapter Eight: The story of commanding the Sixth Army and the exciting advance towards the Volga. Chapter Nine: The Nightmare of Stalingrad; The Siege, the Failed Airlift and the Last Days of Hope. Chapter Ten: Captivity in the Soviet Union and a Strange Change of Position; From the Nazi General to the Voice of Radio Moscow. Chapter Eleven: Testimony at the Nuremberg Trials; Where he testified against the aggressive war. Chapter Twelve: Life in the Soviet “Golden Cage”; Well-equipped but under KGB surveillance Chapter 13: Return to East Germany, life in the shadows and the final years. This part is full of questions that historians still debate: Did Paulus surrender because he had reached the end of the line? Or did he not like the Nazis from the beginning? Why did he stay alive instead of committing suicide like Rommel? #Paulus #Stalingrad #Hitler 📌 Note: Important generals under Paulus in the Sixth Army (These were the ones who pushed the most for a retreat or to break the encirclement): General Walther Heitz Commander of the 8th Corps of the Sixth Army. He was the most staunch Hitler loyalist, but even he eventually said that continuing the war was pointless. General Karl Strecker Commander of the 11th Corps of the Sixth Army. He was one of the last to surrender north of Stalingrad. He resisted until the last moment. General Maximilian von Seydlitz-Kurzbach Commander of the 51st Corps of the 6th Army. From the very beginning of the encirclement, he pressured Paulus: "We must retreat, otherwise we will all be massacred." After captivity, he was one of the first generals to join the Soviets and became active in the "Free German Committee". General Edmund Steidl - Commander of part of the combat forces. He regularly reported that ammunition and food were running out. 📚 Sources about Friedrich Paulus and the Battle of Stalingrad Books 1.
