Hanna Zielińska plays 'a Fancy' (p. 73) by John Dowland on 'Frieda' (Den Toom Luthier)

"'A Fancy' (Poulton No.73) is a composition beloved by both lutenists and guitarists alike. A work of reneissance composer and virtuoso lutenist John Dowland (1563-1626), also known as 'Tremolo Fantasie', it is believed to be inspired by the main motif of "All in a garden green". The characteristic theme also appears in Dowland's contemporary, organist Jan Pieterszoon Sweenlick's "Onder een Linde Groen". The piece can be found in the Cambridge University Library. Although supposedly confirmed as Dowland's work by other sources, it is not signed as his creation in the manuscript, and thus his authorship can be a matter of debate (in the comments, please be civil ;) " -Hanna Zielińska, 2024 Hanna Zielińska is a Polish guitarist studying in Vienna at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst.
