Glowforge laser head ribbon cable replacement

In this video I showed the steps to replacing the white ribbon cable. They tend to wear either in the guide chain or mostly where it rubs the textured guide about it. The manufacture does not sell this cable and instead wants to send it in for a refurbished unit for a decent amount of money considering this is a serviceable part. If you have any questions feel free to ask I will help any way I can. There are other ways of removing and installing the cable. I have used several different ways of doing it. The reason I did it this way is slow and steady, most of the time I will just cut the end off the cable. You can also pull the cable through the middle of the chain track tape the new cable to it and pull it though both ways. What ever you are most comfortable with is the way to do it.
