ISP Solutions & Devantis SA Swiss Data-Centre Infrastructure, Open-Networking & GPU-as-a-Service
The session opens with Christian introducing Devantis SA in Geneva and the data-centre operations of ISP Solutions SA across Geneva, Lausanne and La Chaux-de-Fonds. The companies position themselves as hybrid-cloud and colocation providers offering “1/4-rack, 1/2-rack, full-rack or multiple racks” in certified local datacentres. My Swiss IT Forum(s) 2025 video coverage is sponsored by https://Cheap-EV.com get a Tesla Model S (2013-2015) with Free Supercharging starting at €12,000 or a Tesla Model 3 (2019-2020) with HW3 for Full Self Driving starting at €15,000 with free delivery all over Europe! Under the hood the infrastructure supports redundant connectivity and public peering: ISP Solutions appears as AS34146 in the RIPE/Internet registry with both IPv4 and IPv6 prefixes managed, and multiple upstream carriers and peers. On the network-hardware side, Devantis imports switches from Asterfusion that span 1 G-10 G-25 G-100 G and beyond (up to 800 G ports) and run the open-source OS SONiC (“Software for Open Networking in the Cloud”). As referenced: “like Cisco or Aruba quality … open source software … the customer can audit … switch if software is not working”. Using SONiC means vendor-agnostic silicon, disaggregated hardware and a rich ecosystem. The data-centre architecture emphasises modular, open-hardware servers: chassis that allow motherboard, CPU or GPU upgrades without replacing the entire unit. For example, servers with dual power supplies, 4×25 G ports on each server, breakout cables aggregating to 100 G uplinks, and a GPU chassis capable of 10 GPUs per server are highlighted. This enables GPU-as-a-service (GaaS) for AI workloads. In the video they mention launching “GPU as a service … host GPU workload in our data centres”. From a compliance and physical-security standpoint, the Geneva facility is ISO 9001 / ISO 27001 certified, uses VESDA smoke detection, inert-gas (nitrogen) fire suppression and fire-resistant partitions. On the jurisdiction front, a key differentiator is Swiss-data-sovereignty: because the infrastructure is based in Switzerland under Swiss law, customers benefit from local regulatory regime (rather than U.S. CLOUD Act access concerns) when hosting within ISP Solutions/Devantis datacentres. In their own words: “even with Microsoft in Switzerland it is not the same” in terms of legal regime. From a service portfolio view the companies support colocation, dedicated servers, IP-transit, housing racks, remote‐hands, consulting services for servers, switches, routers, firewalls, storage and cabling. They cater to SMEs, large enterprises and public-sector entities (state departments), especially in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Technically speaking, the network edge (routing/BGP) is exposed to the Internet, so their adoption of open-networking (SONiC + white-box switches) allows full auditability of the network stack and avoids vendor lock-in. They link this to security and transparency — important for financial and insurance customers. Meanwhile internal network fabrics leverage 10/25/100 G and GPU rigs suggest NVLink or PCIe-based acceleration clusters for AI/ML workloads, connected into the same data-centre spine. In summary: the video showcases an infrastructure stack designed for flexibility (modular hardware), transparency (open-source OS), high-throughput connectivity (25/100G ports, GPU clusters), secure physical and jurisdictional hosting (Swiss ISO-certified data centres), and enterprise-grade services (colocation, hybrid cloud). These capabilities make the offering relevant for organisations demanding scalability, auditability and compliance in Switzerland.
