"The Love Test" was an early film directed by Michael Powell before his golden era in the 1940s. Believed missing for many years, a copy in pristine condition was eventually unearthed, and it was surprisingly scheduled on BBC2 in 1993 in an early morning slot, since when it has been unseen. The film features Louis Hayward before Hollywood and stardom beckoned, and Googie Withers making only her second screen appearance at age 18.
