Sleep and Fly Away To Dreaming

For concert band GRADE 2. The peace of beautiful sleeping is a precious thing - warm, restful and rejuvenating. And in amongst the body's need to rest and repair, parts of the imagination can create images, faces, pictures and stories that unfold the mysteries of life and learning. Sleep is beautiful - and so is a sleep filled with dreaming, hoping, wondering and learning. This piece imagines the music of sleep and dreaming, a lullaby soundscape filled with colours that swirl and reflections that unfurl behind the sleeper's eyes.
