The Helsinki Parish Village in Vantaa is one of Finland’s oldest continuously inhabited areas. Dating back to the Middle Ages, it developed around the Church of St. Lawrence, a 15th-century stone church. The idyllic village has a small population of just 139 residents. Recognized as a Finnish cultural heritage site, the village preserves a rare glimpse of pre-industrial life through its historic buildings, open fields, and riverside paths. Reflecting the area’s strong Swedish-speaking heritage, all schools in the surrounding area teach exclusively in Swedish. I've been waiting a long time for the perfect moment to film here, and i think that moment has finally arrived. Covered with beautiful snow, a place where time seems to stand still, a calm, almost timeless atmosphere. I hope you enjoy the walk as much as i did.
