Actor Yo Oizumi appeared on stage at the preview screening of his starring movie "Banana at This Late Hour? An Affectionate True Story" (directed by Tetsu Maeda) held in Tokyo on November 12th, along with Haruma Miura and Mitsuki Takahata. The theme of the movie was "XX but XX", a play on the title of the movie, and Oizumi, who said he ran to lose weight for the role, responded, "Even though he's running, he stops?" Oizumi, who revealed that he ran with Miura and Takahata, said, "(Takahata) stops after running 10 meters. It was hard to keep up with that pace, so he didn't run at all," which excited the audience. Oizumi continued, "You're playing golf even though you're filming?" and revealed, "(Sato) Koichi arrived before the filming and played golf, and then played golf again on the way back. It was sunny only on the day (Sato) played golf, but it rained on the important filming day. So (Sato) said, 'I thought I was amazing after all.'" Oizumi mischievously complained, "I really don't know what he came for. I think he came because it's a summer filming," to which Sato retorted, "You can do whatever you want on your day off!" Also attending the stage greeting were Watanabe Makiko, Ryu Raita, Ayado Chie, Harada Mieko, and director Maeda. The film is based on Watanabe Kazushi's non-fiction book, "Banana at This Late Hour? Muscular Dystrophy Man Kano Yasuaki and the Volunteers" (Bunshun Bunko). The film depicts the life of Yasuaki Shikano, who developed muscular dystrophy, an incurable disease that gradually weakens the muscles, at the age of 12, but continued to run through life with incredible vitality until his death in 2002, along with the volunteers and family who lived alongside him.
