Today begins above the clouds at Panekire Hut before we descend through beautiful native forest toward Waipaoa Hut. Along the journey, you'll meet my growing Waikaremoana tramily, discover what life is really like on a multi-day hike, enjoy some trail banter, and experience one of the friendliest hiking communities in New Zealand. Later, we arrive at the stunning Korokoro Campsite where I test my ultralight tarp shelter and sleeping setup, meet an amazing group of boaties who generously share freshly caught trout around the campfire, and spend another unforgettable evening beside Lake Waikaremoana.
