Adrada de Pirón (Segovia)

It belongs to the province of Segovia in the Autonomous Community of Castile and León. Its surroundings are two uninhabited, former neighborhoods: Cabanillas de Pirón and La Armunilla. Adrada de Pirón extends along one side of the road, divided into two distinct neighborhoods, located at different elevations but connected in a circle. The municipal area is watered by the Pirón River, although the Arroyo del Valle flows near the town center. Little is known about the town's more distant past. Its existence is known as early as 1247, when it is named in a document on the distribution of cathedral revenues preserved in the archives of Segovia Cathedral. The houses in the hamlet have been almost entirely restored, despite retaining the area's characteristic taste for stone. The unique location of Adrada de Pirón, so close to Madrid and Segovia, in addition, of course, to its beautiful surroundings, has enabled a tourism-related development and business phenomenon. Especially considering that in 2023, it had only 38 registered inhabitants. One of its most significant examples is its wide range of accommodations, with four rural houses, a tourist home, and a restaurant. One of the best-known historical figures is the bandit El Tuerto Pirón, about whom stories are told and ballads have even been written. 📸 Photo report at: https://vivetupueblo.es/segovia/adrad... 🔗 Everything you need to know (what to do, where to eat or sleep, interesting facts, etc.) at: https://vivetupueblo.es/segovia/adrad... 💻📲 📍 Places to visit: Church of Our Lady of the Assumption ⛪ The Caño Fountain ⛲ The Pirón River Valley 💦 The Colt ⛩ Calvary Walk 🚶🏻‍♂️🚶🏻‍♀️ Don Juan's Oven 🔥
