⬆️ 🌱*”When Conditioning Breaks, Krishna’s Mercy Leads Us Toward Niṣṭhā”* We made this small change for two reasons regarding the reading time. First, many devotees are busy, but this gives everyone some peaceful time before logging into work, before 8:00. That way, we know we can definitely spend this time in hearing. Second, we wanted to hear together and reflect: ”What did Gaurāṅga give me today? What jewel did I receive today from Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu?” What is that one instruction, that one realization, that one gift which will help me sustain and deepen my taste in bhakti? Whatever verse we read, whatever we hear from Śrīla Prabhupāda or the Vaiṣṇavas— “This is something precious given to me today. This is something I want to remember.” Then we will have something meaningful to reflect upon and share. ⸻ One jewel from today’s discussion is about the sweet intimate dealings of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu with His devotees. Such relationships are possible only because there is deep love and closeness. Not everyone can chastise or correct someone. Only those who have a loving relationship and genuine care can do that. Bhakti is based on love and closeness. ⸻ Śrī Sanātana Gosvāmī saw everything through the lens of service. Even while suffering physically, his only concern was: “Am I causing discomfort to the devotees?” He did not think: “Why is Mahāprabhu, who is all-powerful, not removing this difficulty?” His only thought was: ”How can I be of service? How can I avoid becoming a burden?” This is the heart of a Vaiṣṇava. ⸻ Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu already knew everything. He knew Sanātana Gosvāmī’s heart. He knew his struggle. He knew his desire to serve. The Lord has a plan. Our duty is not to understand everything immediately, but to ask: “Even in this situation, what can I do that is pleasing to Krishna and Guru?” ⸻ The Lord is sitting within the heart as Paramātmā. He sees every small effort. Even a tiny movement toward service, even a small desire to surrender, is seen by Him. Liberation from conditioning does not happen by magic. The old conditioning has to break. And when conditioning breaks, the mind may scream because it does not want to lose its control. The mind wants things according to its own expectations: “If this happens, I will be happy. If this changes, I will suffer.” This is how the mind keeps us imprisoned. ⸻ When the mind screams but we still turn toward Guru, Vaiṣṇavas, and Krishna— that is actually a moment of mercy. We should recognize: “This is a liberating moment. Krishna is helping me become free from my conditioning.” These are important steps toward niṣṭhā—becoming steady at the lotus feet of the Lord. ⸻ The sequence is: 1. Recognize the conditioning being broken 2. Pray for strength 3. Continue with service despite the mind’s resistance 4. A drop of ruci (taste) is given After crossing a hurdle, Krishna gives a deeper inner taste that was not available before. That taste does not come from the mind. It does not come from imagination. It comes from mercy. ⸻ When we see beautiful loving relationships between Guru and devotees, we should feel gratitude: “How fortunate I am to witness such mercy.” Not comparison. Not envy. Inspiration is: “They have such sweetness; may I also learn to serve.” Comparison creates misery. Inspiration brings us closer to bhakti. ⸻ A correction, instruction, or chastisement coming from Guru or Vaiṣṇavas can be understood as mercy. The mind may feel hurt because it is losing its old conditioning. But if we accept it properly: The “kick” becomes a blessing that pushes us deeper into the temple of service. If misunderstood, the same situation can push us away. Therefore, we pray: “Śrī Guru, Vaiṣṇavas, please give me the intelligence to accept everything as Your mercy.” 🙏🙏
