The Neemrana Music Foundation presents a Kathak Festival, celebrating 50 years of Kathak Kendra with Malti Shyam in a solo Kathak dance recital at Neemrana Fort Palace. Accompanists : Shakeel Ahmed - Tabla Nasir Khan - Sarangi Brijesh Mishra - Vocal Shashikant Pathak : Pakhawaj Malti Shyam is one of India's foremost exponents of the Lucknow Gharana. Trained under Shrimati Reba Vidyarthi and Pandit Birju Maharaj, Malti is known for the lyrical grace and technical precision of her dance. She has been a participant in all major dance festivals including Khajuraho and the Festival of India and performed around the world to much critical acclaim. An 'A' grade artist of Doordarshan and Outstanding Dancer of ICCR, Malti is at present working at the Kathak Kendra. Professional dancer, teacher and choreographer, Malti has in recent years been concentrating on research and choreography and has composed various dance pieces which reflect her deep understanding and creativity.
