Gravel Biking West Virginia's North Bend Rail Trail | Full Length Gravel Bike Ride
Taking a ride on the entire length of West Virginia's North Bend Rail Trail on a beautiful Spring morning. The trail extends from Parkersburg to Wolf Summit, going east to west, although it would be easier to ride from west to east (about 2,500 ft of elevation are gained when riding west). The trail is about 70 miles long depending on which sign you believe (GPS had it at 70 miles on the dot from sign to sign) and full of isolation, bridges, and a large number of tunnels. An ideal gravel bike ride, any tire above 40mm would be fine, although the wider the more comfortable. Most of the trail is isolated, although passing through tiny towns here and there does mean some dogs might give chase but they were easily scared off.
