African Crown Eagle Incubates Egyptian Goose Eggs & 2 Goslings Hatched! Zimbali Eagles 2025 Aug 31

This is the nest of the African Crowned Eagles. The female eagle is ringed and wears a transmitter. She is affectionately known as UFO and she was incubating three eggs until two eggs recently hatched and they were Egyptian Geese! From Zimbaldi Eagles "It’s believed that while UFO briefly left the nest, a female Egyptian Goose may have sneaked in and laid her own eggs. The two goslings are now being brooded by the eagle herself – but with no goose mother around to guide them, we're not sure if they will follow instinct and leap from the nest soon. Only time will tell. And as for the third egg…we don’t yet know if it’s eagle or goose, or if it will hatch at all! Exciting times at Zimbali Estate. Nature is keeping us guessing!"
