The recently deceased Spanish writer, considered by many to be one of the last great thinkers in the Spanish-speaking world, published more than twenty works on philosophy, sociology, and history—never as separate disciplines—among which stand out A General History of Drugs (1989), Chaos and Order (1999), and the trilogy The Enemies of Commerce (with the first volume published in 2008 and the last in 2016). He also recently published My Private Ibiza and *The Milestones of Meaning*, and was a regular contributor to the football website La Galerna and the newspaper El Liberal. His last book was *The Forging of Glory*, a brief history of Real Madrid.
