De hoofdzonde 'lust'
Do you have a question or case study of your own? Email it to [email protected] In episode 31, Christine and Gerjanne discuss the fourth deadly sin: lust. It is a topic they honestly admit feels uncomfortable about, for two reasons. Sexuality is personal, and they are both women. For lust simply works differently for women than sermons about it often sound. They make an important distinction: sexual desire is healthy in itself and given by God. It only becomes lust when that desire breaks free from relationship, love, and faithfulness, and reduces people to objects of pleasure. The difference between Joseph and David shows that there is always a choice, even though the power of lust should not be underestimated. They also discuss how to deal with desire that cannot be lawfully satisfied: not by suppressing it, but by taking it seriously and redirecting it. And how self-control is ultimately a fruit of the Spirit, not something you muster on your own. #podcast #lust #deadlysins #sexuality #faith #christian #selfcontrol #parenting
