IJAWS LOST GELE-GELE LAND APPEAL TO BENIN IN THE SUPREME COURT On the 19th August, 1983 the Suprene Court in unanimous Judgment dismissed the appeal of the Ijaws in Gele-Gele land in Benin Division the disruted claim for title which has been on over the years. The Ijaws the Appellant appealed against the judgment of the Federal Court of Appeal declaring title in Gele-Dele land In Benin Division in the Benin/Ughoton Village Commund ty on the 16th December, 1981 in the Supreme Court, The appellant's Counsel Ofuya Esq. filed 8 grounds of appeal egainst the Federal Court of Appeal Judgement by motton Illnd by Ukeaya-Inneh, Est objecting to 7 out of the 8 grounds of eppeal in the Supreme Court were strucked out. In reply to the remaining grounds of appeal contended by the appellent the Supreme Court unanimously upheld the submisedon and reply by Chief F.R. Williams leading Kx 5, Oknaya-Inneh, togo Lor the Ughaton Village Community. The appellint appoil wan this dismaned with 1300.00 cost through the Respondent and the decision of the Federal Court of Appeal aftimed.
