After all the delays and disruptions, all the bells and whistles appears to have been dispensed with. The doors closing chime does not play upon closure, and the chimes goes on randomly between stations, sometimes facing the wrong way! To be fair, SMRT (operating a similar-spec Circle MRT Line) did also ran into similar problems during launch day many years back: • SMRT Trains C830 - MRT Breakdown @ Circle ... . However, MTR did have experience operating an identical system back in Hong Kong for years as the South Island Line.
