Las GUERRAS HUSITAS, la LIGA de HANSA, y los Luxemburgo 🏰 Documental Historia del SACRO IMPERIO 5

In the 14th and 15th centuries, the Holy Roman Empire experienced a period of religious tensions, commercial growth, and dynastic struggles. In this video, we explore three major protagonists of this era: the Hussite Wars in Bohemia, the expansion of the Hanseatic League in the north, and the growing power of the Luxemburg dynasty, which held the imperial throne for several generations. The Hussite Wars (1419–1434) were one of the first major religious uprisings in European history. Inspired by the reformist ideas of Jan Hus, the Bohemian Hussites rose up against the Catholic Church and the Holy Roman Empire after his execution at the stake. This religious civil war challenged the papacy and the emperor and was led by radical movements like the Taborites, who challenged imperial crusaders for years. Meanwhile, in the north of the empire, German coastal cities prospered through trade. They formed the powerful Hanseatic League, a federation of cities such as Lübeck, Hamburg, and Danzig, which controlled the North Sea and Baltic Sea routes. Although they were not kingdoms, they acted as autonomous economic powers, influencing imperial policy and connecting Northern Europe with Russia and Scandinavia. At the dynastic level, the House of Luxembourg stood out, placing several emperors on the throne: Henry VII, Charles IV—creator of the Golden Bull (1356), which regulated imperial election—and Sigismund, the last emperor of the house, who participated in the Council of Constance and the end of the Hussite Wars. It was a time of profound change that already anticipated the religious and territorial tensions of the following century. 🚀➤Patreon → https://bit.ly/2E3zmkS 🎥➤Film Channel → https://bit.ly/2Q2hEmj 🐥➤Twitter → https://bit.ly/2YpvuCh 🖼➤Instagram → https://bit.ly/2JfEXIT 📮➤Facebook → https://bit.ly/2JBaMeK 🔏➤My Blog → https://bit.ly/2HgsRvI EPISODE 110 of BUT THAT'S ANOTHER STORY (documentary web series) #History #HolyRomanEmpire #HussiteWars HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE 5: The Luxemburg Dynasty, the Hanseatic League, and the Wars Hussites 0:00 Introduction 0:34 Early Habsburgs and Nassau (1273-1308) 2:55 Henry VII, the Beginning of the Luxembourgs, and Louis IV of Wittelsbach (1308-1347) 5:28 Charles IV of Luxembourg (1349-1378) 10:58 Wenceslaus of Bohemia (1378-1400) 13:43 Sigismund of Hungary and the Hussite Wars (1400-1437) After the Great Interregnum of the Holy Roman Empire, a new dynasty came to power in Germany: the Habsburgs, whose origins were in a region of present-day Switzerland. Over time, they gained power and land and eventually dominated all of Austria. Those they could not dominate were the Swiss of the Swiss Confederation, whose cantons gradually merged. After that came the kings of the House of Luxembourg and the Wittelsbach. There was a dispute between Henry VII and Louis IV the Bavarian, and finally Charles IV arrived. He dedicated himself to beautifying Bohemia, especially its capital, Prague, and we also owe him the Golden Bull, a kind of Constitution for the Germanic Empire. Some conflicts arose with leagues such as the Hanseatic League and the Swabian League. The Great Western Schism, or Avignon Schism, also occurred. His sons would inherit the throne: Wenceslas of Bohemia and Sigismund of Hungary. Aside from the Nicopolis Crusade, what is important is everything related to Jan Hus, a religious man who wanted to reform the Church and ended up at the stake. His death led to the so-called Hussite Wars, led by Jan Zizka, which would end with the Habsburgs once again in power, and this time for good. 'But That's Another Story' is a weekly documentary series broadcast on YouTube that aims to summarize the entire history of humanity, from the creation of the Earth to the present day.
