ELHAGYATVA - Dizájner Drogok Magyarországon

How does the use of new psychoactive substances, such as "herbal" or "crystal" affect the Hungarian countryside and cities in 2024? How does Hungarian society treat the users of these drugs? Drug users, ex-dealers, mayor, helpers and experts answer these questions in a new documentary by Drugreporter. Since 2007, we have been making films about drug policy to humanise this complex phenomenon. To remind society that people who use drugs, even if they are homeless, if they smoke synthetic cannabinoids, if they inject drugs, or if they are Roma drug users, they are not "zombies," they are not "junkies," they are people, people as valuable as anyone else. Moreover, they are, even if they serve the unceasing need for drugs other than alcohol, i.e. drug dealers. We hope that with this film, made over two years and lasting nearly an hour, we will be able to contribute to the understanding and interpretation of designer drug use in Hungary, as well as to the development of appropriate public policy responses. We are convinced, and this is what we have been proclaiming on Drugreporter for 20 years, that we must support people who use drugs, and not punish them.
