1096 - Prague, Czechia: Trams in striped pyjamas (pid livery) in May 2026

Welcome to Podbaba Transport Video 1096. On our recent visit to Prague, we noted that more and more Tatra KT8D5.RN2P trams and Škoda 14T have now been refurbished and repainted into the pid "striped pyjamas" livery. In addition, Škoda 15T 9269 has received a pseudo-pid livery as part of an allover advert for the integrated transport authority. All new trams and buses, including the new Škoda 52T trams, wear the pid livery and they are included in a separate video presentation. New (to Prague ex-Miskolc) Tatra KT8D5.RN2P trams from 9106 upwards - to 9113 - have received pid livery before entering service and many going through "PO" level of maintenance (a major rebuild) now receive "striped pyjamas" colours before re-entering service. There were originally 60 Škoda 14T trams but, due to a serious accident, 9165 was scrapped followed by a further 4 examples as a result of accidents and corrosion. Now the remaining 55 units are being totally refurbished, either off-site at Pragoimex and Ekova or in Prague's own workshops. This creates, effectively brand new trams and they all appear in "striped pyjamas". Thank you for watching this 2026 Youtube Podbaba Transport presentation.
