The Rise And Fall Of Captain Andy's River-Towne

What happens whenever you let former Showbiz Pizza Place employees, and former Disney Imagineers, make an animatronic Restaurant? Well, you get Captain Andy's Rivertowne, which I would say was the best of the many attempts to copy Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre. The chain was founded by Rolfe Kennard, Andrew Whelan, and Edward whelan, and they teamed up with legendary imagineers from Sequoia creative: Dave Schweninger, Thomas Reidenbach, and Bob Gurr to make something reallly, really cool. Opening it's first location in 1982, Captain Andy's River-Towne had a lot of things going for it, but most noteably the animiatronics there was Captain Andy, Matthew, Claribelle, Sparky, Jubilation T. Bullfrog, Mrs. Bullfrog, Gus Gus, Happy, Homer, Goober, Dixie, Daisy, Delilah, and last but certainly not least, Honeysuckle Ambrosia Hippopoto-Mae. sadly this dope cast of characters was not enough to save Captain Andy's, and like the many other arcade animatronic restaurants, they would go bankrupt. but, the animatronics lived on, going to many theme-parks, and other random places around the world. like, Thorpe Park, Pleasurewood Hills, and Watermouth Castle, all of those being in England. They also were in Japan at the Yokohama exotic showcase, then they were also at another theme-park, this time at Boblo Island in Canada. Then back in the states, in California, they made one last really weird and random restaurant appearance. I also talk about legal troubles which is always fun.
