2022 Marin Bobcat Trail 4 - Two Major Upgrades

The 2022 Marin Bobcat Trail 4 is a good bike. They start you off with a solid frame with good geometry and a nice wide range 1x MicroShift Advent drivetrain. But there are two things holding this bike back from being a great bike... The first is the SR Suntour XCM coil spring fork. It heavy and doesn't have adjustments to compensate for weight and preferred rebound. What you need is an air fork. They're more adjustable, offer a much better feel, and are generally lighter too. I this video I install a Rockshox Rekon fork and also take you through the steps of installing a tapered fork on this straight steerer tube frame. Next is the seatpost. To unlock the true trail potential of any bike, you need to let the bike move around under you. A dropper seatpost will allow just that. You can adjust the seat height on the fly with a lever.
