SETTING A NEW STANDARD FOR BLACK TEACHERS TO HAVE A VOICE IN THE TEACHING INDUSTRY.... There’s a deeper conversation that hasn’t been had enough in golf instruction—especially from a historical and educational standpoint. For a long time, there has been very little documented instructional literature coming from Black teachers that examines the golf swing at a truly foundational level. Much of what existed in earlier eras wasn’t framed through a long-term educational lens—it was often rooted in the moment, not in building a lasting body of knowledge. Meanwhile, generations of golfers were shaped by instructional works from figures like Jack Nicklaus, Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, and Ben Hogan. Their books became the “media” of their time—informing, influencing, and guiding players for decades. That gap in perspective and contribution is something I’ve taken seriously. This new work is not about debate—it’s about substance. It’s about presenting a level of understanding of the golf swing and teaching methodology that stands on its own. Others can read it, study it, and form their own conclusions. At the highest level, the true measure of a teacher is simple: can they solve problems, or do they create more? If what we’re seeing today represents the best available thinking, then it’s fair to question it. Because players don’t decline without cause.
