Collapsing Essex Church & Prisoner of War Camp

Berners Roding Church dates back to at least the 14th Century. Today it stands abandoned after being deconsecrated in 1985. Its mysterious history and secluded location makes for a very unusual location, almost completely stripped inside yet still bearing a few ornamental details. Prisoner of War Camp 116 in Hatfield Heath housed captured German, Austrian, and Italian soldiers of the Second World War. This rare and fascinating forgotten complex of buildings sadly appears to be on the verge of demolition despite massive protest from its locals.
