Death Note Isn't All That Smart

More problems with Light's Yotsuba plan: -If the TF learn of the fake rule where whoever touches the DN dies if it's burned then that might prevent them from touching the DN -What if Light doesn't wear the watch -What if Higuchi was the kind of person to panic and burn the DN after committing murder Other general problems: -L's theory of Kira being a student was weak. Kira could've just had an afternoon job and even then, only 68% of the killings had that timing. If it were 80%+, that'd be convincing. Ofc it was just a consideration but the issue is Light tried to play it off as him setting things up so that L could conclude this. There's no way that's the case -How did L know Kira was letting L know he's connected to the NPA? I get why L concluded Kira's connected to the NPA, but there was no reason why he'd be so sure Kira was trying to let him know that -Another (minor) problem with the plan to get Raye's name, if the busjacker tossed the tiny piece of DN paper he got from Light on someone else, that person would be able to see Ryuk and Light's screwed -L revealed himself to Light even tho he could've used Aiber. This is dumb because he knows kira can control ppl so as far as he knows Kira could control people into killing others. Meaning that even without Light knowing his name, Light could still have him die (from L's perspective) -Light's goal with passing L's tests is so he can meet the task force so they can confirm whether Ryuga is L, but who's to say they wouldn't be lying? Even if they're not lying, what if L sent a proxy to the TF? Light knows there were trust issues between them so it's not unlikely -The mattress plan to save Matsuda was too risky. if Matsuda's position was even slightly off or if someone was close enough to the balcony, it would backfire so hard. Cartoonish plan. -Why does everyone assume Yotsuba Kira has to be stupid just cus he asked for other people's advice? It could be that he genuinely respects the wishes of people in the company and wanted to hear them out. Or maybe he's just not confident -Don't get why Light and L assume Namikawa is smart when he barely said anything in the meeting they saw -Mello was trying so hard to get a mask from Soichiro... does this underground criminal organization battling Kira not have a single mask with them? -The manga elaborates more on Near's reason for why Mikami is X-Kira but its still quite contrived. What are the odds that Mikami is Near's FIRST suspect, especially when stuff like "he fits the profile" and "he met Takada twice" could apply to dozens of people? Not to mention the insanity that Near could physically zone in on Mikami's TV appearances when surrounded by hundreds of TV programs More problems with the ending: -Light letting Near know Mikami is X-Kira is dumb because if Near never had the notebook-swapping plan (for good reason) Near would just capture Mikami and its over. Likely even find the real notebook. Or maybe kill Mikami on the off-chance Near didn't care much about getting proof -Light easily could've planned it out so Mikami doesn't write in the names of two Task Force members (who are controlled beforehand) so that Light's name is not the only one not written. Or perhaps Mikami could write in the names of the SPK members in one page, write in the names of the Task Force in a small corner of another page, and swallow that corner -The fact that Near doesn't consider the above after learning Light was aware of Near's plan is very dumb -It's VERY dumb that Mikami knew he had a tail on him but didn't learn his tail's name with the eyes. Had he known, he could've controlled Gevanni into never reporting anything when Mikami went to the bank -Why did Hal tell Mello Near has a plan? The only reason she helped Mello was to catch Kira but with Near's plan that was finally gonna happen, so why tell someone who could mess it all up?
