Celebrating The Life Of Apollo Kadumukasa Kironde

Kadumukasa was the first born of Apollo and Santa Victoria Kironde. He was born on August 20th 1946 at Mulago hospital. He travelked to England with his father and mother while his father read law at the Middle Temple and returned to Uganda in 1953. He lost his beloved mother at the age of nine, an experience that shaped in many ways both good and bad. In 1960 he left King's college Budo and moved to the US when his father became the Ambassador to the United Nations and studied at the Collegiate School. Upon graduation he spent a year learning photography and French in France. He returned to America where he studied at Fordham University and got his Bachelor's Degree. Kadumukasa moved back to Uganda during Amim and married and has 3 boys from that union and 2 from subsequent relationships, as well as a stepson from his second wife....all dearly beloved. He honed his skill as a first class chef by taking what he learned from his stepmother's father who was a master chef. He parleyed this culinary venture into becoming East Africa's first food critic. 2 years ago he married his widow, Mirembe and he was happy and content. It was a terrible shock to lose him so suddenly. May he rest in peace Burial will take place at their home in Manyangwa- Gayaza on Saturday, 30th May 2026 at 4:00pm
