Lots to Do in This Cool Mountain Town of Waynesville, NC Near the Smoky Mountain National Park

Travel to this fantastic mountain town! There is so much to do and see all year long but especially if you want to escape the Summer heat. Our friends bought a beautiful mountain getaway high above Waynesville, North Carolina. We visited at the height of Spring surrounded by bright colored Rhododendrons and lots of wildflowers. We ate lots of great food. We'll share where we ate and what! Plus, we'll take you on a walking tour of Lake Junaluska. It really reminded me of the traditional, all-inclusive mountain resorts of yesteryear but equipped with all today's fun stuff. We were in Waynesville for Memorial Day weekend so they had a lot planned, however, you can join the block parties throughout the year where they shut down the main drag to traffic and fill the street with live music and fun for the kids.
