Is the Blackstar St James series of guitar amps the future? Let's find out. In this video Nick Jennison will be checking out the 6L6 version of this amp from Blackstar. The St James series it a range of amps that fit into 6L6 or EL34 categories. The amps are available as 1x12 and 2x12 combos as well as heads with matched 2x12 cabs. The amps themselves are considerable lighter than regular valve amps due to Blackstars choice to use a Switch Mode Power Supply and a custom made Celestion speaker to keep the weight at a minimum. This amp is a pleasure to play, and to lift! The St James amp's have built in power scaling and the option to simulate power transformer sag with a simple toggle switch.
