ERB - YouTube Absol: absol (japanese: アブソル absol) is a dark-type pokémon introduced in generation iii. while it is not known to evolve into or from any other pokémon, absol can mega evolve into mega absol using an absolite. absol has a dark blue face with a short, catlike muzzle, a small, black, triangular nose, a scythe-like tail, and sickle-shaped growth on the right side of its head. like owls, it seems to have one ear point upward and one point downward, supposedly to hear the exact location a sound is coming from. it also has an oval marking on the top of its head. some believe this to be an abnormal development of its right ear, but it is actually a horn, as said in its pokédex entry. despite its appearance, this horn is actually very soft to the touch, particularly whenever absol is not tense or angry. it has a snowy-white coat that is very soft to the touch. upon mega evolution, absol's appearance doesn't change much except for larger and more curved horns. its white fur has gotten fluffier and longer around its ankles. when absol mega evolves, the fur on its back stiffens up giving it the appearance of wings. it can glide on the winds, but can't fly. absol is a very good-natured pokémon that warns people of upcoming disasters by appearing before them. when it is not warning people in nearby cities, it spends its time up in the mountains. sometimes it may even help people to guard their fields. despite having the ability to mega evolve, absol itself strongly detests this form due to its overall tender nature. but it can still use the power of mega evolution to faze and intimidate its enemies, even if it means scaring timid people to death. Mothman: mothman, in west virginian folklore, is a humanoid creature reportedly seen in the point pleasant area from november 15, 1966, to december 15, 1967. the first newspaper report was published in the point pleasant register, dated november 16, 1966, titled "couples see man-sized bird ... creature ... something". the national press soon picked up the reports and helped spread the story across the united states. the source of the legend is believed to have originated from sightings of out-of-migration sandhill cranes or herons. the creature was introduced to a wider audience by gray barker in 1970, and was later popularized by john keel in his 1975 book the mothman prophecies, claiming that there were paranormal events related to the sightings, and a connection to the collapse of the silver bridge. the book was later adapted into a 2002 film starring richard gere. an annual festival in point pleasant is devoted to the mothman legend. mothman is described as a bipedal, winged humanoid. despite his name which was given to him by newspapers, he is in no way moth-like, and has an appearance more like that of a large humanoid owl. his coloration varies from black, gray, to even brown, although it is usually the darker shades. he is often reported to be about 7 feet tall, with a wingspan of about 10 to 15 feet or more, plus the ability to fly at over 100 mph. sometimes he's described as not having a head with the two huge red eyes set in the chest. these eyes are reported to be glowing, or at least reflective. he can fly much faster than any bird should be able to fly, as measured by those victims who suffered from what seems to be mothman's favorite activity: chasing cars.
