Tamworth: The UK’s Most Neglected Bus Fleet?

I take a look at the almost historic fleet in Tamworth. Is Tamworth the town where buses go to die? Once the historic capital of the Kingdom of Mercia, Tamworth is now home to an Arriva bus fleet of 15-to-20-year-old hand-me-downs, clapped-out diesels, and Citaros that look ready for a demolition derby (or literally going up in flames!). 🔥🚌 In today’s video, we take a trip to Staffordshire to see why public transport in Tamworth is falling behind. We explore the bizarre lack of bus connections at Tamworth Railway Station, the legacy of deregulation taking us from Midland Red to Arriva, and why a simple trip to the Snowdome is quicker on foot than taking the bus! But is it all doom and gloom? We also look at the horizon for Staffordshire's public transport, including the cascade of newer buses from Leicester, the Staffordshire County Council Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), and the potential ripple effect of the new West Midlands bus franchising model. 👇 Have you experienced Tamworth's buses? Or does your local town have an even worse fleet?
