Trump wraps up G7 summit focused on Iran ceasefire agreement, Ukraine support and AI initiatives

President Donald Trump wrapped up his final day at the G7 summit in the French Alps on Wednesday after spending much of the gathering focused on a 14-point agreement aimed at ending the conflict with Iran. Before departing for a visit and dinner at the Palace of Versailles in Paris, Trump held a news conference where he defended the proposed agreement and argued it would help avoid further military escalation and economic turmoil. "If we didn't do this deal, we could have dropped more bombs for another three weeks, two weeks, four weeks, two years," Trump said, suggesting a prolonged conflict could have had severe economic consequences. "So, the one thing I didn't want to see is I didn't want to see economic catastrophe. If you kept this going, that could have happened," he continued. "But all I know is every time we talked about the possibility of peace, the stock market shot up like a rocket ship."
