(FORMER WORLD RECORD) Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition Speedrun - New Game/Normal in 45:09 IGT

7/8/24 UPDATE: This time has been beaten by Silent Hill 2 runner Nyiddle with an astounding 39 minute run! Congratulation to the new world record holder! Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition is a somewhat recent addition to the Speedrun.com leaderboards, so there are some categories that don't have much competition at the moment, like the New Game, Normal Action category, which only had 2 runs before this submission. The previous world record for SH2 Enhanced Edition - New Game - Normal Action was by Scaler4112 in 52 mins and 23 secs. My run is in 45 minutes and 9 seconds, using the route and strategies as they were back when I first learned the route in 2015. There is no RNG manipulation and played using tank controls which are slightly slower than directional controls, but tank style is more comfortable for me as that is how I learned to run the game in 2015. Terrible run, lots of little mistakes with movement, and some bigger mistakes with boss fights, and really bad RNG on the puzzles, but hey, I'll take it. watch live at nubzombie.com
