Why Did Ancient Humans Never Get Fat

Why Did Ancient Humans Never Get Fat No human in history was fat — until about 100 years ago. Not because they had more willpower. Not because they moved more. Because of a secret your body still remembers, and the modern world made you forget. In this video, we travel to northern Tanzania to meet the Hadza — one of the last true hunter-gatherer societies on Earth, walking up to 14 km a day. In 2012, anthropologist Herman Pontzer measured how many calories they burn… and the result broke a belief that diet and fitness culture is built on. A Hadza hunter burns almost exactly the same calories as an office worker in New York. So if they burn the same as us but never get fat, the reason was never how little we move. It was always what we eat. The Hadza eat up to 10 times more fiber than we do — food that fights back. We engineered ours to be soft, frictionless, and impossible to stop eating. You weren't designed to be fat, or to count calories, or to fight a daily war against your own hunger. That ancient system is still inside you — perfectly built for a world that no longer exists. 🔔 Subscribe to Archaia — and remember who you came from. #AncientHistory #HumanEvolution #Anthropology #Hadza #Archaia
