Rubble is still being cleared mostly by hand. There's a shortage of equipment. All hope lies in crowbars and shovels. Everyone found alive is greeted with applause. Rescuers from dozens of countries have come to Turkey's aid. Syria, which is under sanctions, has been spared only by Iran, Algeria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Egypt, and Iraq.
