Full walk out to Bruce's Stone at Clatteringshaws (formerly Moss Raploch)
Join Loki and I for a walk out to Bruce's stone located next to Clatteringshaws Loch. Starting at the site of the former Clatteringshaws visitor centre (set to become the Darksky Observatory) we follow a path along the edge of the Loch to Bruce's stone. The stone is named as such after Robert the Bruce is said to have rested against it after the Battle of Moss Raploch ( or Raploch Moore). The battlefield has since been flooded as part of the Galloway Hydro Scheme.
