Watercolour painting, swatching, and art inspiration.

In this video , I start by painting an intuitive watercolour background on 140 lb Canson XL mixed media paper . I use my "Around the World " (white palette) paint set by the Ocean Paper (theoceanpaper.com), and use a number 12 round synthetic brush by Princeton. I created a frame border with Japanese "washi tape" around the edges of my paper, and I talk about how I like to use this decorative tape. I finish the video by adding mark making overtop the dried watercolour on paper. More in this video: I also swatch over an already existing "swatch" of watercolours by "Mozart", Komorebi. (link below I show my finished "Beam" watercolour palette that I'd glued my 140 lb Arches watercolour to (in a previous video), and demonstrate how the surface repels water, and therefore my watercolour paint. I had used Dorland's cold wax to get the seal on the surface. When I do my swatches, I like to clean my brush in the shape of my brush stroke on a 98 lb watercolour piece of paper.
