Fluid Mechanics – L3h– Pressure & its Measurement-Numericals on U-tube manometers

This video lecture is suitable for Diploma Students of Civil Engineering as well as for the aspirants who wish to brush up their basics. Reference book: Fluid Mechanics by Birinder Singh (KAPSON Publication) Correction 1: The vacuum pressure in a manometer can be recognised if the level of Mercury in the right limb is lower than level of Mercury in the left limb. By mistake in the video I have said lower than center of pipeline. Kindly note the correction. Correction 2: In the (b) part of Q4 the equation is 9810 + (-1.36+ 0.1- x + 27.2x) 9810 = 0 -1.26 + 26.2x + 1 = 0 -0.26 + 26.2x = 0 x = 9.92 x 10^(-3) m
