What Forgiveness Does in the Spirit Realm ⚔️

I truly believe that if we understood how powerful forgiveness was in the realm of the spirit, we would never want to hold onto bitterness ever again. Forgiveness is a weapon in the Kingdom of God and it destroys the enemies plans for our marriages, families, and cities. The devil wants to destroy our destiny, marriages, ministries, churches, children, families, and relationships through bitterness and unforgiveness, but we must be like Joseph in Genesis who understood that forgiveness was not just for him, but it was for the generations! Joseph had two prophetic dreams in the night as a young man where God revealed his prophetic destiny as a leader and ruler. But after the release of the dreams, everything in Joseph’s life seemed headed in the opposite direction. Shortly after God revealed his prophetic destiny, Joseph was betrayed by his brothers and sold into slavery. I felt just like Joseph when my husband’s affairs came out years ago. I was devastated and had been betrayed by my own family. But the amazing thing is, Joseph’s life shows us what God can do through someone willing to forgive and live with a higher perspective. I believe Joseph understood the impact his intentional forgiveness would have on his destiny when he chose to forgive his brothers. Almost thirteen years later after the betrayal, Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt seeking food. Joseph had been moved to the palace where he was the second in command to all of Egypt. Joseph was living in his prophetic destiny. Instead of retaliating and “paying his brother’s back” here’s how Joseph responded when he finally revealed his identity to his brothers: “‘I am Joseph!’ … whom you sold into slavery in Egypt. But don’t be upset, and don’t be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives… God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors. So it was God who sent me here, not you...” (Genesis 45:4–8). Joseph believed that his years in prison were used for good by God so that he could fulfill his prophetic destiny! Joseph had the heart and mindset of someone God could trust to lead. The key to Joseph’s success in life was concluding that his past, present, and future were all orchestrated by God to prosper him and the future generations. The Forgiveness Prayer & Steps 1. Release and let go 2. Identify the lies 3. Identify the vows 4. Discover the truth 5. Renounce the lie and vow 6. Declare the truth 7. Turn the truth into a declaration Forgiveness Prayer 1. Release and let go: Jesus, I choose to forgive____________ for what they did to me. I release them to you. for when___________________ (describe the event or what happened). When this happened, I was caused to feel________________ (use the emotional pain words below). Just as You took all the pain and consequences of my sin to the cross, I now choose to do the same. So I choose to take the pain and consequences that _________________ (Name of person, myself, or God) caused me to feel to the cross without blame. I relinquish my right to hold onto that pain and nail it to the cross just as you did for me. 2. Identify the Lies: Jesus, what lies were I caused to believe about myself (identity/purpose/ability statements) from this circumstance? What do you see, sense, and/or hear? You might see a picture or hear a word or sense something. 3. Identify the Vows: Jesus, what were the vows I agreed to because of these lies? (Vows are inner agreements). 4. Discover the Truth through an encounter: Jesus, Your word is the truth and sanctifies me. What is the truth that you would speak into my heart over this situation? 5. Renounce (break agreement with) the Lies and Vows: Jesus, in your name and by your blood, I renounce the enemy’s accusations and lies I believed when I said in my heart_____________________. 6. Declare the Truth: I now choose to believe the truth of what you spoke when you said __________________________. 7. Prayer for a deliverance. In the name of Jesus, I command any demonic spirit that came in through my unforgiveness and bitterness to leave now and the name of Jesus. (pray this part together with your spouse.) 7.
