It takes place each year in Alpe d’Huez, France, a popular stop in the Tour de France. But I think we can safely say that this is about as different from the Tour de France as you can possibly get. It starts at 10,800 feet (3300 m) at the top of the Pic Blanc glacier before descending 8,000 feet (2440 m) over 13 miles (21 km) to the finish in Allemond. It’s primarily single track with snow, rocks, jumps and mud. It’s steep and long and hard. And it’s going to be a crazy adventure.
