This place, once a UNESCO World Heritage site, was the scene of violent occupations, historic destruction, and public executions. I explored the ruins of the ancient Roman city, visited the site where innocents were executed, entered abandoned military bases, war tanks, active checkpoints, and even saw missiles made in Iran.
