My First PS4 Repair - A Dirty Console With BIG Problems!

What started as my first PlayStation 4 restoration quickly became one problem after another. The console was absolutely filthy inside, so it needed a complete strip down and deep clean before I could even begin diagnosing the faults. Just when I thought things were improving, the HDMI port decided to stop working. After some investigation, I found that three of the HDMI port legs had come loose from the board. Using my soldering iron, I carefully reworked the connections and managed to get the port working again. Unfortunately, the surprises didn't end there. The Blu-ray drive had problems of its own. I completely stripped it down, cleaned the laser and mechanism, removed the old grease, and applied fresh lubricant in the hope that it would come back to life. Sadly, despite all that work, the drive was still faulty and I eventually had to replace it with another one. It's safe to say this PS4 fought me every step of the way, but that's all part of the fun of console restoration! There were plenty of challenges along the way, but seeing it finally come back to life made all the effort worthwhile.
